Four years ago, Crystal Dubrawsky’s husband, Michael, had a dream that she ran a clothing boutique.
He asked her if she wanted to own one, and with their pastor, the couple prayed over it. She said it seemed like it was meant to happen.
The couple encountered problems in the first few years, losing investments on two attempts to start an online boutique, but Crystal said she saw signs from God throughout the hardships that she took as signs to press forward.
“I always told God, ‘You’ll put us where you want us, it doesn’t matter how long it takes,’†she said. “And then, just like with the website, when things just kick you and put you down just time after time over the four years, you start asking, ‘Is this something that I’m supposed to do?’ If it’s not, then I’m fine with it. You just need to know.

“Then I’d go out in public and somebody would be like, ‘Where’d you get that skirt? I love it,’ and I’m like, ‘OK, God, I hear you.’â€
The pieces finally fell together in November when Reflections Boutique was able to open at 605 S. Green St., Suite 100, Â鶹´«Ã½. The shop, in a group of buildings that houses Sidetracked Brewery, is just before Beach Street when you come into Â鶹´«Ã½ on South Green Street.
The store offers a variety of clothes for women and children, and suits from Stacy Adams for men, Crystal said. Most clothes are in the $60-70 price range, and suits are priced below the manufacturer’s suggested retail price, she said.
“We feel like people would dress …. more modestly if they knew that it was available,†she said. “People try to dress the best way they can with what they can buy in a store, so it may not be the way that they want to dress, but it’s all that they know that’s out there. So we wanted people to be able to reflect on the outside what they feel on the inside.â€
She said the styles are modest and modern.
“We want to offer different things when it comes to clothes,†Crystal said. “It’s what sets your business apart from everybody else because we all carry jeans and shirts, but what makes ours different. So we want to be modern and unique, so I don’t want to carry what everyone else has carried, but we also want to do it for the entire family, from birth to men, women, young kids, all ages.â€
In addition to their clothes, they have some layering pieces and accessories.
“No matter what you wear, you can do it in a modest fashion,†Crystal said. “You don’t have to show your midriff, you don’t have to show your bust at all. It doesn’t matter what style, what size you are, you can do it modestly.â€
Soon, she said the store will have a Hannah’s Closet program available for those who may need clothes but can’t afford it. The clothes in Hannah’s Closet will be free.
Reflections Boutique is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., but Crystal said she’d be happy to work with customers who need to come in after hours or see something through their social media. Find the boutique on Facebook at .
