A man died and his wife was seriously hurt after a wreck Sunday evening on U.S. Highway 64.
Danny Lee Scott, 64, of Morganton, was driving a 2005 Chrysler 300 when he attempted to turn left from a stop sign on Fisher Davis Road onto U.S. Highway 64.
He turned into the path of a 1975 Ford dump truck, according to information from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Scott died from his injuries at the scene, the highway patrol said. His wife, a passenger in the Chrysler, was transported to UNC Health Blue Ridge in Â鶹´«Ã½ with serious injuries.
The driver of the dump truck was transported to the same hospital with minor injuries.
No charges will be filed in the case, the highway patrol said.
