A Hickory man is charged with attempted first-degree murder in a Long View shooting that occurred on Sunday, March 23.
Gregory Leigh McConnell, 36, was arrested on Wednesday on the charge of attempted first-degree murder, the Long View Police Department said in a news release.

A shooting was reported on Sunday, March 23, at about 3 p.m. on the 800 block of 33rd Street SW in Long View. An occupied vehicle was shot. No injuries were reported, Long View police said.
The Long View Police Department Criminal Investigations Division collected evidence at the scene and conducted multiple interviews, Long View police said.
McConnell was identified as a suspect. He was arrested following a search of his home in Hickory on Wednesday, Long View police said.
