A man told police he had just used methamphetamine before he and a woman were found inside the freezer of an old restaurant in Â鶹´«Ã½ on Tuesday.

Thomas Parks, 30, and Cassie Tester, 40, were found inside the freezer in the old Allison’s Family Restaurant building on Burkemont Avenue in Morganton, according to information from the Â鶹´«Ã½ Department of Public Safety.
Police found Parks and Tester after responding to a report of two people trying to break into the building on Tuesday, April 1, the department said. An officer noticed the walk-in freezer was opened and found the pair inside it.
The officer saw a blue rubber band tourniquet around Parks' arm and hypodermic needles on the floor next to Parks and Tester. Parks told police he had just used methamphetamine, the department said.
Police also found a baggie of a white substance in the freezer that field tested positive for methamphetamine, the department said. Parks said the baggie was his and pulled out another baggie from the crotch area of his pants, the department said.
He was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor breaking and entering, according to the department. His bond was set at $2,500 secured.
Tester was also charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering, the department said. Her bond was set at $1,500 secured.
