Kathy L. Brown

Kathy L. Brown, 65, of Morganton, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 5, 2024. She was born on January 14, 1959, in Burke County, to the late Charlie Luther Brown and Martha Griffin Brown. She had attended East Valdese Baptist Church. Kathy provided care as a respiratory therapist at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville and at the W.G. Hefner VA Hospital in Salisbury, NC. She enjoyed having a good time and loved going to the classic car shows in Valdese. Kathy also enjoyed attending the concerts on the square in Â鶹´«Ã½ and Valdese.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul, Clarence, Ray, Vernon and Bevert; sisters, Linda Kay, Reba Faye and Louise.
Kathy is survived by her son, Chris Brown (Marylin); grandchildren, Anthony, Ellen, Andrew, LaLaine and Larwyn; brother, Loy Alexander Brown; sisters, Mae Morrison, Lois Wood, and Margie Mayfield; her beloved dog, Sophia, who she loved taking on long walks.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Sossoman Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 12 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home.
