Snow and sleet have moved out of the area, but cold temperatures will remain over the weekend.

A snowfall analysis map released at 6 a.m. on Saturday by the National Weather Service shows Burke and McDowell county snowfall numbers ranged from 4-2 inches.

Catawba County totals ranged from 2 inches in Newton to trace amounts in Sherrills Ford.

Iredell and Alexander counties received an inch of snow or less.

The National Weather Service reported 2.1 inches of snow in the St. Stephens area of Hickory. The Weather Service reported two inches near Bethlehem, 1.8 inches in Valdese and two inches near Marion.

High temperatures Saturday will be in the mid-to-upper 30s for Marion, Morganton, Hickory and Statesville. Lows Saturday night will be in the teens.

Sunday’s highs will be in the upper-30s to low-40s.

According to Duke Energy’s power outage map, there are two customers in Catawba County without power as of 7:30 a.m. Saturday. No other outages have been reported in the area.

According to the N.C. Department of Transportation’s real-time traffic website, , no road closures due to the winter weather are affecting the area. 

Most roads, including Interstate 40, are partially covered with snow and ice, according to the website.

The North Carolina Emergency Management Agency encouraged residents to not travel unless necessary. If traveling, the agency reminded drivers to slow down and leave room between cars.
