Burke County government offices, including libraries, will close Friday due to expected snow. Libraries will also be closed on Saturday, the county said.
All non-essential Burke County offices will close at noon on Friday, the county said. That includes convenience sites and the landfill. That does not include public safety departments.Â
Burke County Public Library branches will be closed on Saturday for staff and visitor safety, the library system said in a Facebook post.
On Saturday, the Burke County Landfill will be closed. Convenience sites will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, the county said.
Burke County Public Schools is on a remote learning day for Friday.Â
The Burke County area is expected to see 2 to 4 inches of snow starting Friday afternoon into Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.
